Wedel, 8 April 2026 – The medac Group has acquired its long-standing Austrian distribution partner AGEA and will operate in the Austrian market under the name medac Austria going forward. With this acquisition, medac further expands its European presence and continues to implement its international growth strategy.
The acquisition builds on a long-standing and successful partnership. Until now, AGEA has served as medac’s distribution partner in Austria, directly supporting the local market. These established structures will remain in place under the new name medac Austria. Cooperation with customers, suppliers and service providers will continue unchanged. The experienced team will be retained in full and will remain the primary point of contact in the market.
Strengthening through acquisition
With this acquisition, the Austrian business becomes an integral part of the medac organisation. Integration into international structures creates efficient processes and supports a stable and reliable supply of medicines.
